Right at the prow of Europe, Cap Sizun has retained its genuine character in majestic surroundings composed of cliffs and wild coastline. The "Pointe du Raz", "Baie des Trépassés", "Pointe du Van" and the many creeks and headlands of our north coast bear witness to this. Placed between the Bay of Audierne and the Bay of Douarnenez, this site offers all the pleasures of the sea : fine sandy beaches, water sports, sailing and gastronomic delights. Chapels and calvaries, menhirs and ancient stones, Cap Sizun will reveal its charms to you whether you visit it on foot, horseback or bicycle.

A delightful historical and artistic town on the side of a hill overlooking the Goyen, five kilometers from Audierne. It is a pleasant town and an ideal holiday resort, on the "Route des Peintres" (Painters' Trail).
WHAT TO VISIT Picturesque streets and medieval houses. Roman-gothic church of Notre-Dame-de-Roscudon (XIIth-XVIth-century). Guided visits from 1st July to 31th August (enquire at Syndicat d'Initiative). The river Goyen is navigable for five kilometers at high tide.

Capital of the maritime heritage. Largest stretch of sheltered water in France. Boat museum with floating exhibits unique in Europe. Situated in one of the finest bays in Europe, Douarnenez is both a large fishing port and a well-known tourist center. Renowned for its beaches, its sailing center and the great number of excursions possible in the area. The thalassotherapy center in Tréboul is open all year.

Locronan, a sacred druids' site, bears witness to its prestigious past and offers to the visitor an architectural ensemble unique in Brittany ; XVth-century priory church, XVIIth and XVIIIth-century town houses dating from the time when canvas woven in Locronan supplied the sails for all the fleets in Europe.
WHAT TO VISIT Saint-Ronan priory church, chapel of Notre-Dame-de-Bonne-Nouvelle (guided visits). Squares and streets lined with old houses. Panoramic view from Plas ar Horn (289 m). Plogonnec is a large rural commune just inland from the Bay of Douarnenez, near Locronan and Quimper. Nice country walks.
