Brittany on a canvas

With the dilemma of where to house the Cornouaille festival`s art exhibitions, Quimper`s painters` association chose a place representing the Cornouaille festival and the traditions which it defends. In the cultural centre of the Chapeau Rouge between the bar, where one aperitif follows another, and the colony of press figures, one can only see the paintings, costumes and embroidery which have retained their majesty and elegange. Far from the room of the unforgotten is a room of calm which unveils the tregorian costumes, rich embroidery and paintings by artists from Danielle Estrade to Marcel Quintin and Annick Queffelec, already well established in the art world. Huw Davies, a welsh artist inspired by his countries medieval tales, confirms the same celtic relationship throughot his varying painting genres. More than an art exhibition, this is more a topic for family conversation.
