The world of the flutes, a musical journey.
The flute transforms the breath of man into music. With no need for a reed, mouthpiece or bellows, what instrument throughout the world is as simple as the flute? The festival de Cornouaille pays universal hommage to the premier instrument with the "Monde des flutes et flutistes" program, an invitation to the masters of the small hollow pipe. At the heart of the week`s festivities, in the often intimate atmosphere, the range of 'flute' works refreshes the attentive audience. The musical genres travel from persia to the cheerful irish repertoires of Davy Maguire and Paul Mc Grattan; then to the mystical bansuri flute of Harsh Wardham and oriental melodies from Chinese and Japanese flute players. A music so airy and light, listeners won`t want to come down from the clouds.
