With the aim to perpetuate popular arts and traditions, the Cornouaille Festival (4th Sunday in July and throughout the previous week) has, for over 70 years now, been one of Brittany's major cultural events. Over a full week, hundreds of musicians, dancers, storytellers appear in around 200 public performances. Music, singing, dancing, gastronomy, exhibitions, story-telling, conferences are on the agenda of this cultural week, definitely one of the biggest and most representative events in Brittany's cultural life. From 22nd to 28th July, several places in Quimper will host a wide array of performances centred on this year's main topic, "the Irish Imaginary meets Brittany". Leading musicians, dancers and singers will let you discover how arts and traditions combine the past and the future.
