The magazine for those with a passion for boats and the sea
A rich maritime cultureThanks to its constant quest for recollections and life stories, the Chasse-Maree undertakes to explain the how and the why in the life of sea-going people. The public is becoming more curious about the history of maritime communities. The Chasse-Maree has contributed in no small way to this interest, and the whole of maritime culture finds expression in the pages of the magazine.

Coastal LifeIn a few years, the CHASSE-MAREE has asserted itself as an essential review for all those who are passionate about, or in some way involved with the sea and traditional boats; a must-have for all maritime enthusiasts. The Brittany review. In 1986, the same group launched a second review called ARMEN. Ideas and Action. The first gatherings of traditional sailors at Pors Beac'h (Brest harbour in the 80s) had already shown the features of the modern day maritime festival : french and foreign boats, music and a joyful public... The series of meetings "Douarnenez 86", "Douarnenez 88", "Brest 92" and "Brest 96" have shown how the cultural heritage has been faithfully retained, combining their sucess with that of the festival.

By conceiving the idea of the Rhu-Port museum in Douarnenez and combining it in '89 with the launching of the "Bateaux des Cotes de France" (Boats Of the French Coasts) competition with "Ouest France", Chasse-Maree's immense commitment has led to it becoming a part of maritime history in its own right.
