Max Jacob praises Quimper - His native house

The poet’s childhood memories were brought up in his native house, which is therefore an important source of inspiration.

The native house. Yes ! I can see it ; I can visualize Quimper and the chestnut-trees on the riverside, the evergreen Mount-Frugy. I remember my father so patient and who cried because of my aunts. I have also been rejected by my brothers and I have been accused of spending too much ! I apologized twice. When they welcomed me, it was too late, my heart was already broken and it still is. The old, crouching balcony would like to land !
It used to hide me in summer when I read Maupassant !
I was also crouching, but vertically !
