Max Jacob loved his town library. He used to go there very often when he was a teenager. Later he visited it whenever he came back to Quimper and he considered it was the place where people could "discover his productions and remember him".

A beautiful collection consisting of original productions, manuscripts, illustrated editions, critical articles, has been realized since 1944 in addition to the donations he made from 1937 and 1944. The catalogue presently offers more than 500 references.
